Learning Analytics–Driven Adaptive Learning – A New Dimension of Ubiquitous Learning
Ubiquitous learning allows us to study anytime and anywhere. One exciting concept that develops this idea is learning analytics–driven adaptive learning. This approach means that educational systems observe how students learn, what mistakes they make, and which materials are challenging, and then adjust the learning process to meet each person’s needs. This way, we can learn at our own pace and in a way that really suits us.
We can see this in practice on platforms like Khan Academy or Coursera. If you struggle with a task, the system can automatically provide extra explanations, exercises, or short video lessons. This makes learning more accessible and flexible. You don’t have to wait for a teacher’s help or follow the same pace as everyone else – the system adapts to your needs.
Adaptive learning not only helps us gain knowledge but also encourages collaboration. Even when we study remotely, we can share our progress, ideas, and work together on projects. This builds a sense of community and develops important skills like communication and teamwork, which are essential in both school and everyday life.
Thanks to this technology, ubiquitous learning becomes truly universal. Regardless of location, time, or technological limitations, everyone can develop skills and access knowledge from around the world. It gives us more control over our own education and opens up new opportunities for the future.
An example of how adaptive learning works can be seen in this diagram:https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Components-of-a-Typical-Adaptive-Learning-System_fig1_325413503 . It shows how the system analyzes our actions, adjusts content, and monitors progress, creating a continuous learning loop.
