Portfolio Assessment

A strong example of an alternative assessment is portfolio assessment, where students compile a collection of their work over time. Portfolios show growth, creativity, and mastery through multiple pieces of evidence rather than a single test score. They promote reflection and allow students to demonstrate strengths that standardized tests cannot capture. However, portfolios can be time-consuming to produce and evaluate, and scoring may vary if rubrics are not applied consistently.
