Assessment for Learning MOOC’s Updates
Google Classroom in Modern Education
Google Classroom is a widely used learning and assessment environment in the Philippines that incorporates basic learning analytics to help teachers and students monitor academic progress. It collects data from student activity—such as assignment submissions, quiz scores, time of completion, and class participation—and organizes these into dashboards that show trends, gaps, and performance patterns. Through these analytics, teachers can easily identify learners who need remediation, notice dropping engagement, and adjust instruction more effectively. Students benefit as well by gaining real-time access to their grades, missing tasks, and feedback, which supports self-monitoring and more responsible study habits. However, the system also has limitations, such as misinterpreting low activity caused by poor internet access or creating pressure for students who feel constantly monitored. Despite these challenges, Google Classroom’s learning analytics help create a more responsive and data-informed educational experience.
