Assessment for Learning MOOC’s Updates

Evaluation

We need to evaluate what we do in education to ensure quality, equity, and relevance for all stakeholders. Effective evaluation requires context-sensitive methods, stakeholder engagement, and a balance of technical rigor and value-based judgment. Evaluation is essential because it improves program quality, supports accountability, guides decision-making, promotes equity and inclusion, and fosters learning and use. We can evaluate effectively by ensuring the clarity of the evaluand, engage stakeholders, and choose the right approach. It is also important to balance technical and valuing practices, anticipate tensions and use meta-evaluation or other cross evaluation technique. Another evaluation method is the SWOT (strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis based on stakeholder interviews, classroom observations, and performance data.
