Learning, Knowledge and Human Development MOOC’s Updates

Essential Update #1

All behaviors are learned through conditioning, and conditioning takes place through interaction with the environment, according to the behaviorist theory of learning. Behaviorists contend that environmental cues influence our behavior. The central tenet of behaviorism is that all actions are acquired through interactions with the environment. According to this learning theory, environmental factors have a much greater impact on behavior than innate or inherited traits.

Teachers rewarding their class or particular students with a party or special treat at the end of the week for good behavior throughout the week is an example of behaviorism. Punishments utilize the same idea.
