Learning, Knowledge and Human Development MOOC’s Updates
Essential Update #2
Collaborative Learning
This is a style of learning. This method involves an association of people, coming together with an open-mind to interact and learn (Valamis, 2022). Collaborative learning is efficient and proficient in building social relationship, as it welcomes and allows for diversity. This reinforces communication skills between members involved, and opens their minds to new and innovative ideas. In this case, an individual is not limited to his knowledge, but there is the perspective of critical thinking and brainstorming, which co-learning really buttresses. This form of group studying or learning encourages teamwork and active participation of all individuals present. The individuals are able to develop their problem-solving skills, and create solutions to societal or professional puzzles. Individual knowledge is not irrelevant, as it encourages the members to share their personal views and ideas, to build on a cooperate and standard concept.
Co-learning aids learners to understand and ask unclear questions from a peer group, and relatively learn from one another (Tofade et al., 2013). It helps to reduce formality and fear in some learners, and create room for effective interaction that will stimulate their interest and retention.
