Nature vs Nurture
The nature theory supports a person's natural ability to perform a certain task otherwise known as skills. While the nurture theory argues supports the mind-brain theory supports that skills plus effort states that what you practice grows stronger.
According to Angela Duck’s book, Grit supports the theory that talent times effort is equivalent to skill. While Skills times effort is equivalent to success. And that natural talent doesn’t always support success.

Of course natural intelligence does not always determine success. Success requires hard work. No matter how intelligent or talented an individual is if he or she is lazy, not driven the person ill not go far.
Some who is not so intelligent but driven can improve his or herself and succeed. But then what is the definition of success. - Is it as defined by the society or by the individual?
