Crowdsourcing

Outsourcing has shown serious developments over time with the new tools of technology, especially the Internet. As another business model, another approach called crowdsourcing has been developed. Crowdsourcing means the transfer of some work done in an organization to an undefined community –or people in a neighboring community – for outsourcing through an open call (Howe, 2008; Schenk and Guittard, 2009). Social media, which is articulated with crowdsourcing, goes beyond the Internet as a channel for conversation and prepares the environment and infrastructure for this kind of shared value creativity. The concept of crowdsourcing is a form developed for the more organized and planned use of the approach expressed by this simple example. Technically crowdsourcing; is the acquisition of needed services, ideas or content – usually online, as well as on the Internet – with the contributions of a large community. Crowdsourcing thinking simply states, “People are knowledgeable and experienced in a wide variety of subjects; The important thing is to dig up this treasure”. The crowdsourcing approach, which we can call the 'wisdom of the masses' (Surowiecki, 2005); Social media promises an interesting unity with the concepts of innovation and participation. The crowdsourcing process for innovation in social media can be combined with creative thinking techniques and organized into various variations. As the target audience of the audience source; Social media groups and networks that vary according to different needs such as product development, problem solving or crowdfunding can be targeted and the formation of such networks can be encouraged.
