EVALUATION FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT!
I would like to share here with you an example of evaluation tool that we are using in a classroom observation here in the Philippines. This is to be used for the 4 quarters for the whole school year. There are set of objectives that the teacher will need to hit because the teacher will be rated and the ratings will be used for the performance evaluation of the teacher for that school year. I must say that the set of objectives are for the betterment of both the students and teachers. I know that these objectives are evaluated by the experts in the Department of Education-Philippines before it is used in the field. Though there are issues regarding the classroom observation at present, but the agency have been continuously looking into it to improve more the curriculum or the whole educational system. That's why there are consultations happening in the field to really address the issues properly.
Different programs or policies comes with different evaluation tool which should serves its purpose. Both weaknesses and strengths come together and this is inevitable in the field of education. That's why we cannot say that one tool is constant because every day, month or year, new trends, innovations or ideas are coming in. And we need to be resilient and adaptive to change. And it is only through resiliency and adaptiveness we can further enhance and evaluation results will be at use.
