Assessment for Learning MOOC’s Updates
New Opportunities for Assessment in the Digital Age
With the rise of new technologies today, many things have changed. Even in the field of education, there have been changes. Before-the use of a blackboard and a chalk were enough but now a student can do a lot of things using different technologies. Even teachers are using different technologies in assessing their students. All tasks are made faster and easier with the use of technologies. in terms of giving assessment teachers shifted their assessment to continuous or project-based assessment with some moving from grades to pass/fail. Rather than produce an essay or thesis, students might develop a website, a video, a multimedia presentation, a storyboard or a comic book. All were assessed against the same rubric.
This is true indeed and as an educator, we have to keep at par with these changes coming here and there. We have to move along with these changes to provide suited and essential actions to come up with activities for learning in this time and age.
