Formative Assessment
Formative evaluation is the practice of receiving ongoing performance feedback. The goals are to pinpoint performance areas that require improvement and provide solutions. When learners receive feedback as part of formative assessment, it aids them in identifying any gaps between their intended objective and their existing knowledge, understanding, or skill and directs them toward the activities required to reach the goal (Ramaprasad, 1983; Sadler, 1989).
All educators have different strategies and way of evaluating students to give an appropriate results of interpretation of intelligence, hence aside from the standardize test some or several use alternative assessment which actually focuses or targeting an authentic student progress base on the submitted portfolio. It is in my opinion that this type of assessment is the best way or form of assessment since it will cater or help the students to gain knowledge and improve their capabilities using higher thinking order skills or what we call hots. This type of assessment also can cater the different learning styles of each students which in part of the teacher will have success in achieving it goal of the learning and teaching process.
