Assessment for Learning MOOC’s Updates

BASC-2 as an assessment tool

BASC-2 is an extensively researched tool that evaluates children based on a multimethod, multidimensional model. This includes a teacher (TRS) and parent (PRS) rating scale, a self-report of personality (SRP), a student observation system (SOS), and a structured developmental history (SDH) (Hanken, 2008). With such a thorough system of measurement that recognizes emotional and behavioral disorders in children, the BASC-2 test can assist with the development of treatment planning that uses alternative therapies and methods to assist in the improvement of emotional behavioral disorders (EBD) in children. A tool such as BASC-2 can be important in understanding and validating the use of innovative interventions. Therefore a feasible question is: Can BASC-2 effectively measures the emotional improvement of youth participating in alternative therapies and methods?
