Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of different types of leadership on the performance of green logistics in the retail industry in the Al Buraimi governorate of Oman. The resource-based theory was tested in Oman. The questionnaire used in the research was developed using validated items from past literature. The endogenous variable was green logistics performance, while the exogenous variables included in the study were transformational , transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles. IBM’s SPSS 25 was used for descriptive statistics, and SMART PLS 4 was used for testing the hypothesis. Results of the study revealed no significant relationship between transformational leadership style and green logistics performance. However, the study revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between transactional and laissez-faire leadership styles with green logistic performance. The study will help fill the knowledge gap regarding the relationship between leadership styles and green logistic performance in the Governorate of Al Buraimi in Oman. Furthermore, policymakers in Oman have initiated many programs to promote the logistics sector and Oman as a regional logistics hub. Thus, this study will provide insight into the limited effects of leadership style on green logistic performance, allowing policymakers to allocate resources to other priority areas.
