A Study on Post-Traumatic Growth of Refugee Women, Coping Str ...
Abstract
Movement from one place to another occurs when people find the other place to be safer or better for their livelihood. This is particularly true in situations when migration is perceived as a transient or even circular, recurring arrangement, in which the household stays in the origin area to reduce the expenses or disruption of relocating the entire family, and the migrant departs for the destination area. In addition to other difficulties, prejudice, exploitation, and assault are commonplace among women migrants. The purpose of this study is to comprehend the problems and causes behind the migration of female workers, who are more susceptible to these difficulties because of their gender, nationality, and status as migrants. Although there are many issues that women need to go through during migration, they still do migrate. This research article will look at how women are made to choose migration. It will also examine migration’s cultural and social influence in the novels “River of Smoke” and “Sea of Poppies.” This article will critically analyze the female characters of the novels “River of Smoke” and “Sea of Poppies” to understand the problems and the reason for their choice of migration. It will also analyze if there is any post-traumatic growth in a woman’s migration journey.
