Constructivism largely means knowledge is conceived through a learner's experiences and environmental interaction as opposed to knowledge being simply received.

What makes this interesting is that it fosters active learning and possible retention of concepts taught as the learner is capable of relating with the concept. However, this concept also poses some limitation if the said learner lacks foundational or basic knowledge which could be caused by internal or external influences.
