Hi Everyone,

My name is Rebecca, I'm Australian/American but currently living and working in India. I teach Humanities (Middle School Social Studies), English and High school Geography at the International School of Hyderabad. My educational background is mainly in Asian Studies, History and international Development in addition to holding a graduate diploma in secondary education.

I'm fairly experienced with technology and I integrate it into my teaching wherever possible. We are a google school so we use a variety of tools from the google suite on a daily basis at school both for planning and admin as well as teaching and communicating with students and their families. In my daily life outside of work, I'm an avid Facebook user and occasionally use twitter and pinterest. I have instagram and snapchat accounts but rarely use them. Most used apps would be Facebook, Skyscanner, Agoda and Design Home (an interior decorating game I am addicted to). My most hated app is anything that crashes all the time.

Multimodal literacies is kind of a new area for me but I do use videos, films, pdfs, podcasts and ebooks in my teaching. My background is in Social Studies but for the last 5 years I have also taught English literature so I am looking for more pd's and training in this area to improve my skills. So, I hope that through this course I can gain ore knowledge about teaching literature in general and more specifically about teaching literature in the digital age.
