Multimodal Literacies MOOC’s Updates
Essential Update #1
Multimodal Meaning and Synaesthesia
Considering the age we live in, I can say that we have integrated with technology with the new generation, and I believe that the more we can benefit from this technological intensity, the more beneficial it will be. Instead of dealing with a text only with grammatical structures, pronunciation forms and phonetic information, on the contrary, it will be much more beneficial to use and analyze a text from auditory, visual, tactile, gestural and many other aspects. If we consider their difficulties, it may be a more complicated process for people who cannot keep up with the new modern age, because if we consider their era, we can easily say that they are not as technology-intensive as they are now.
I had a similar experience of a technological gap when I went back to school in 2008. Ironically I was a computer science student when it happened. My whole first term was a near-disaster because I didn't have a cell phone! They weren't really necessary in the real world, but I couldn't effectively contact with my peers without one because they all texted each other, something I'd never done, lol. When I wanted to learn something I went to the library and got a book because I didn't know how powerful Google, Stack Overflow and youTube were. I was a mess.
