A multimodal literacy application for me is Paddlet. I've used it with freshmen students to share ideas and information on different topics. For instance, they worked in groups to propose an idea to solve a problem, post it in paddlet explaining goals, implementation, and describing how it will help people. Then their peers gave them feedback through commenting about their project. Students were required to share pictures, links and documentation related to the topic.

I think it is important for students to learn how to use multimodal resources because they learn to develop their digital skills such as searching and evaluating information, those are skills highly required at university.
