My name is Melody.

I live in Kansas in the USA. I teach math at a community college. I am about 2 years from early retirement, but I still want to improve my teaching.

I used to be a foster parent. I am very close to my older sister, who lives in a neighboring state. I like being a doggie aunt to her lab mix, but I do not currently have a dog of my own.

I watch a lot of politics and political humor on television. I also watch Criminal Minds. I try not to spend too much time playing Facebook games.

I listen mostly to Broadway and Disney musical soundtracks as well as protest songs, certain kinds of Christian music, classical music, and songs by Carrie Newcomer and Taylor Swift.

My degree is in math, not education, so I am hoping to learn a lot about the human side in this course.
