Learning, Knowledge and Human Development MOOC’s Updates

Discussion Forum: Essential Update #1 - June 03, 2024

The teachers role in the behavioralists theme is very important. The teacher must either positively reinforce behaviors or punish a behavior. Positive reinforcement is used to encourage repeated positive behavior. Negative behavior is then punished, this is to prevent the unwanted behavior from occurring again. The teacher must set clear instructions on how to achieve the positive reinforcement. The teacher is to shape the environment to attain the desired behavior

One key concept of behaviorism is conditioning. negative punishment is one way to condition. The goal here is to take away a desired thing or activity until the behavior is changed. For instance my daughter has forgotten to do her homework at times and goes and plays outside instead. In order to motivate her she must do her homework first , then she may have free time outside. If homework is not done then I take away her time outside.
