I'm not sure if I need to put this here...I'm confused with how this will work but here goes...

I'm Katie currently living in New Jersey. I live in Vernon, where the ski resort is and commute to work in Hoboken, NJ just across the river from New York City. I just celebrated my 19th school year. I have working mainly with middle school students but am elementary trained. I have worked mainly in New Jersey then in Tirana, Albania for a time. A few years ago I completed my Master's Degree (all online) in Middle School Math and Science education. This led me to my current job as the Middle School Math Teacher.

My experience with technology has grown since the pandemic. I have used multiple online platforms (Moodle, Blackboard, Word Processing, Google Suites, Powerschool, Veracross) as both a teacher and learner. Teaching during the pandemic over Zoom, then hybrid was really hard! I find that I am enjoying this 'back to normal' situation which has added new life into my teaching. I have continued to use some eLearning platforms as well as some old fashioned pencil and paper as well.

From this course I am hoping to get a greater insight and understanding into how the brain works during learning, how to tap into optimal student learning, and more metacognition strategies to help my students make meaningful connections with their learning.
