Learning, Knowledge and Human Development MOOC’s Updates
Instruction No. 1
Educational psychology assists teachers in selecting an effective learning theory and developing a strategy based on it that takes into account the individual characteristics of their students, significantly increasing the effectiveness of learning. Theoretical developments of the ideas of programmed learning, problem-based learning, developmental learning, and so on enable teachers to select the most productive method of teaching their students based on their subject, a specific class, or a specific topic of the lesson. Knowledge of educational psychology, which employs neuropsychology and cognitive sciences, assists the teacher in developing an effective teaching strategy. Empirical, cognitive, and neuropsychological studies, for example, show that training in the form of productive struggle is more effective.
While problem-based learning is a refreshing alternative to standardized tests it is often the case that style of instruction is only utilized for students who are considered gifted & talented. I believe this is in large part due to the fact that the children are regarded as brighter and class sizes smaller therefore it is easier to manage. How could education leaders make learning more students focused ensure that all students have (at minimum) access to varying means of instruction that most highlight their style of learning?
