Essential Update #1

IQ Test

In Binet's way he formed the IQ test to test one's mind based in many categories. It was to test one's intelligence in rememberance or knowledge of something. To see how the mind works logistically. It was made to be a test of judgement or of style. Some tests may ask to test your personality, character, intelligence and so on. Psychiatrists uses IQ tests to evaluate and assess their patients, this test may be called a psych evaluation test. In Binet's words the test was to evaluate if a child was intellectual or retarded, in other words to know the intellectual capacity of the brain the child may acquire. His development of the test was to also wanted to have exercises to alternate the verbal, literary and scholastic character of an individual - He called this test the pedagogical examination. His logistical purpose for these things was to see how the mind can process information, form concepts and how to apply logic and resons to certain situations etc. These test were proved to be accurate and sufficient. Many statistics have shown the IQ capacity of individuals ranging from either their cultural backgroung (country they were born), their ages, their gender, disabled, not disbled, the average person and based on their career or study field and many more aspects. These test can show the capabilty of one's mind and such intervention can me amazing to society for it is used rampantly. In some way some may think that these tests can be harmful. It may have a negative impact on the user of the test. Say for example one does an intelligence IQ test, 40 questions and only got 10 of them correct. This person may now adapt to the idea that they are not smart enough and cannot do better than the average person. In mosst cases this then leads to admirable doubt in the person's mind and may cause affliction. This sometimes can lead to a psychological impartation. They then label themselves as incapable and lose massive self-confidence. These tests can work both ways for humanity and we have to be careful on how we use them. Another example of negative impaction is that a teacher can use this test to evaluate the capability of her students. Then it can lead to a division in her students, some go to the special class and the others go to the lesser of the class. I have done my research and know in a lot of schools over the world has classes like these. Children are divivded and catergorized and this devaluates them. So then though these tests may be accurate and deemed dependent, are we sure in certain circumstances that we would like our children to go through such a stage in their life.
