Educational innovation as transformative pedagogy involves using innovative teaching methods to fundamentally change the way education is delivered and experienced. This approach aims to empower students to critically examine their beliefs, values, and knowledge, fostering a reflective knowledge base and a sense of critical consciousness and agency.
There are key elements of transformative pedagogy, the first one is constructivist and critical pedagogy this element helps students build their understanding through active engagement and critical reflection.
Another one is reflective knowledge base wherein it encouraging students to reflect on their learning processes and outcomes. There is also multiple perspectives wherein it values diverse viewpoints to enrich learning experiences. The other element is critical consciousness and agency wherein it develops students’ ability to question and transform their social realities.
Thre are approcahes in pedagogy which is very innovative, the first one is the blended learning wherein there is an integrating online and face-to-face learning to personalize education. We also give modules to be answered by students. We can also use experiential learning because it engage students in real-world projects and community involvement. We can also use embodied learning because it incorporates physical activities and creativity into the learning process.
Transformative pedagogy not only enhances academic outcomes but also prepares students to be active, thoughtful participants in their communities and the broader world.
