What does the Transatlantic Slave Trade mean?
Do you know where the name the Triangular Trade came from?
The Transatlantic Slave Trade was also known as the Triangular Trade because it was a three step process (like a triangle-three sides). The countries involved in this process were: France, England, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands.
The process was like this:
1st step: Europe (Bristol or Liverpool) -> the West coast of Africa
2nd step: Africa -> North America, West-Indies
3rd step: North America, West-Indies -> Britain
But what did ships from these countries deliver to each other?
Did it seem more as exchange?
