Thank you for the video. I absolutely agree with the speaker, the Middle East is covered in the news from the negative side, where there are wars, murders, the imposition of religion etc. The news blame invasion, sectarianism, religion. Despite this, there are hospitality, charity and incredible diversity of different things.
And the speaker is right, in many appeared events bad governance is to blame.
I have many acquainted people from my life, who originally come from Iraq, Iran and other Arab countries. They really love their countries, even if they have to move to another one. They are very hospitable, glad to get any guests to their houses, respect older people and help each other, instead of properties conflicts and judging each other. Not all people are representatives of any country or culture, not all people of any nation show really what people they are, especially of the Middle East. People are different, and not nation is guilty, some individuals are guilty.
Thank you for this video, that was interesting to watch indeed.
It provoked ambiguous emotions in me. But I cannot but accept the kernel of truth about the image of the Arab world - it is totally distorted by mass media and the aggressors to whom close attention is paid. What we usually see on TV or on the Internet is that the culture and attributes of the Arab world are associated with wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and the hostility of the peoples fighting there. The speaker is right - there is much more to explore in the Middle East; one can be surprised at hospitality of the indigenous people or attracted by the language they speak. There is something more than wars there, and I truly believe it.
