New Learning MOOC’s Updates
Three Core Instructional Approaches
1. Didactic Approach 🗣️
Focus: Direct transmission of knowledge from teacher to student.
Characteristics: Structured lectures, textbooks, and explicit instruction.
Emphasis: Clear presentation and systematic learning, providing a solid foundation of information.
Limitation: Can sometimes lack engagement and fail to foster critical thinking.
2. Authentic Approach 🛠️
Focus: Bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
Characteristics: Incorporates real-life scenarios, practical tasks, and hands-on experiences.
Goal: To make the learning process more relevant and meaningful, connecting theoretical knowledge to practical situations and preparing learners for challenges outside the classroom.
3. Transformative Approach 🌱
Focus: Going beyond mere transmission of information or skill acquisition to inspire personal and intellectual growth.
Characteristics: Challenges students to question assumptions, think critically, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world.
Goal: To foster a mindset of continuous learning and empower students to adapt to an ever-changing landscape, essentially creating lifelong learners.
