Of course, China's expansion has wiped out many neighboring countries in the struggle to promote their economy, which has become a small part of China's economic expansion in their territory, which has eliminated the dreams of many to create a self-contained or somewhat independent domestic economy to curb foreign import.

To be honest, I am not surprised at the expansionist behavior of China, for we know that throughout the world the country has been forming its own economy by means of cheap export of goods and cheap labor force. The problem lies in the fact that economic wellness of any country is embedded into politics. It seems to me that in that period of time (2013 approximately) China had a strained relationship with South East Asian countries and failed to fix up differences politically.
