Anna McDonald’s Updates
Week 11 Update
In a small group presentation the first thing I would want to determine is what the purpose of our speech is. I feel this is one of the most important steps and should be done before anything else because it will give us an idea of what needs to be done as well as the final goal. The next thing I would recommend doing is dividing up the work between people, making sure everyone is confident and working up to their strengths. For example, I would not want to give someone who doesn’t know accounting knowledge anything that has to do with accounting, I would give them something that plays to their specific strengths. I also would make sure that we are tailoring our work to the audience we are presenting to, this will hopefully give us the best response from whomever we are presenting to.
A very important aspect of presenting, especially in the professional world is your appearance, is how you are presenting yourself. As a group I would make sure that we all look unified and no one person is over or under dressed. In many group presentations at school my group always sets a dress code, and is something I think is very important when presenting.
Your focus on purpose, collaboration, audience engagement, and presentation aesthetics demonstrates a comprehensive retro bowl understanding of effective group presentations.
