Your presentation is great. I like your opinions and geometry dash lite which is awesome.
@Jennie,
That's so kind of you to offer, Jennie, but please--absolutely no need.
I was just kidding--I think the recording is OK--I've just done better before.
As a podcaster, I'm probably overly self-critical. Besides...it's posted in a different community for my second course, so you couldn't see it, even if you tried! ha-ha! I agree that it's really less troublesome to present live.
Regular in-person board games are my preference, too (and charades)! I'm looking forward to hiking, touring the art & history museums, zip-lining again and possibly some in-person games with family later this summer! I'm sure you have some terrific plans cooked up with your family this summer, too! Enjoy!
Hi Jennie!
Great job on your Oral presentation via Screencastify!
You appear to have really gotten into that game with the story you described--it sounds like a fun way to learn when you narrate the action so enthusiastically!
I remember playing a few video games with my boys when they were younger and then my grandson more recently--how quickly they catch on, but thankfully they were merciful and gave me some pointers:) LOL!
You've also inspired me to redo my video now (instead of settling for my first take late at night), if I could only find the time.
Taking 2 courses concurrently over a short summer session sounded like fun (and it is) but it's a little more stressful than anticipated--such is life...
Again, kudos to you (and also, again, congratulations to your daughter)!
I'm sure you and your husband are so very proud and rightfully so!
@Sandra
You are so kind, but I almost feel like presenting live is less troublesome. This was a 6th try, I think. I want to talk about all the hilarious dark humor in the game, but it really is a good example of the best kind of learning.
You may have been there and still have been paying attention when I was saying that these kinds of games aren't usually my thing. I prefer in person board games and escape rooms with finite time goals. Portal actually demonstrates all of Gee's Principles of Learning, so I got pretty enthusiastic about analyzing it. The backroom story and the Rat Man clues are fascinating as well.
Regarding your video redo: I really don't think it is necessary to do that. I am sure you have more than satisfied what we needed to accomplish with it. You are so busy too. I will go and comment on it, since I have some time now. It's likely just what they have asked of you.
Kids sure do catch on very quickly with these games, don't they? I'm sure they are excited to be able to help out an adult and teach you a thing or two. :)
Thank you for the congratulations! Laura is really a smart cookie, and I expect that she will have a very wide range of interests and a leave a positive mark on the world. We are all very proud of her accomplishments.
