My name is Charlotte Njua Mbuh, but my friends call me Chacha. I have a passion for community health and preventive medecine especially immunization. My passion for immunization is born out of the desire to protect the most vulnerable ones in our communities ( children under five years of age) from infectious diseases. I started working formally in the EPI program about five years ago and most of my training has been done on the job, through workshops, reading and receiving mentoring from people that have more experience than me in the domaine. I had the opportunity in 2016 to attend the 12th Annual African Vaccinology Course (AAVC) organized by the Vaccins for Africa (VACFA) initiative in Cape Town, South Africa. This enabled me to gain much required knowledge on vaccins, data managment, vaccine trials, VPDs, etc. I love field work and we are regularly on the field, training community health workers, carrying out supportive supervision in health facilities with the administration of a DQS to assess data quality. Despite the fact that vaccination coverages are usually good, the poor data quality makes us at times to question the validity of these results. That is why I really want to do this course. Knowing that at the end I will be more apt to analyse and use vaccination survey coverage data to improve upon our EPI performances. I am open to learning and sharing experiences.
