In my study, I want to find out towhat extent gender is included as a factor in fighting poverty in Majengo Slum. In Kenya, as in all other parts of the word, slums form pockets of poverty in Urban areas and sometimes they are forgotten in anti poverty programs. 

I aver that poverty has a gender dimension and finding out whether gender is considered in war against poverty informs my study.
