I studied German Language and Literature in Freiburg, Goettingen, were I got my German degree, and in Lawrence, where I got my M.A.. My thesis was on Ruth Klueger's "weiter leben" and "Still Alive", an autobiography of a survivor written once in German and once in English, without translating it. In this thesis I investigated cultural differences in the practice of memory and how Klueger took these into account when writing her two autobiographies. Since January 2009 I am Graduate Student at Vanderbilt University. My interest is (cultural) identity as it is discussed in romantic literature and in avantgarde literature. Currently I am doing research on discrimination and dream in Louis Fanon's "Black Skin White Masks."
