Katherine Sabate is currently the Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Department and an Associate Theatre Professor at Guang Ming College Manila, the fifth member of Fo Guang Shan International University Consortium and the pioneer Humanistic Buddhist College in the Philippines, which is open to students of all faiths willing to learn and to mutually respect one another’s custom, culture, and religion. She is also a Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts at the University of the Philippines in 2009 and a Candidate Graduate of Master of Arts in Theater Arts from the same university. Alongside with that, she was volunteering as a theater, dance and art educator for The Umbrella of Wisdom, a Non-Government Organization, who reaches out to Indonesian locals wherein she has more opportunities to know more of their cultures. She is a theatre practitioner (actor, director, choreographer and dramaturge), an advocate of peace, a warrior of Christ, and, above all, an educator and a life-long learner.
