The Collective Identity Research Centre (CEIC) is a research group on questions related to identity in contemporary societies. Nine members of this group (Beatriz Cavia, Gabriel Gatti, David Gómez, Ignacio Irazuzta, Amaia Izaola, María Martínez, Daniel Muriel, Elsa Santamaría, and Benjamín Tejerina) have been working in the european research project TOLERACE (http://www.ces.uc.pt/projectos/tolerace), “The semantics of tolerance and (anti-)racism in Europe: institutions and civil society on a comparative perspective”, funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Community where this communication finds its origin.
