  Currently employed at Meiji University, in the newly established School of Global Japanese Studies. Students learn intensive English their first year and a half with one of the goals being to raise TOEFL iBT scores high enough to study overseas, primarily in the US. My teaching duties are limited to English skills courses in this curriculum. After 17 years of teaching in both Japan and Korea, I'm still interested in student motivation. Recent publications and presentations have dealt with the use of reading journals as a way to discuss materials students read. Less
