  Hello! My name is Ashley Davis and I am currently in the process of pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership for a Spring 2019 completion. My research focuses on servant leadership in the Division I intercollegiate athletics setting and the cultivation of self-actualization in those student athletes. I am passionate about student athletes and their ability to find personal fulfillment, identifying with other parts of themselves beyond their athletic identity. Head coaches can heavily impact student athlete growth, as well as their propensity for success by creating a team culture that prioritizes the needs of student athletes while at the same time striving to stay in tune with their student athletes on a person-person level outside of their role as coach. Ultimately, I have dedicated myself to encouraging and motivating people. It is my life's work to be a champion for others and support them in being the best version of themselves. I hope to use my research as a means to create programs and services that train coaches on the benefits of servant leadership and helps student athletes create meaning in their lives as a whole person and not just a student athlete.
