Lesson 14/Digital Media Log
While doing this media log, I realized how much technology I use throughout the day. While it is not as much as others, it is still enough to see negativity through a screen. I work as a tasting room associate in Napa so I do not get to use much media throughout the day other than music. Our music station is one that is appropriate for a work environment. Even though, the content can still be negative here and there with minimal violence. When I get home from work, which is typically after 6, I make dinner for my husband and I. I sometimes watch Netflix while doing so. We are watching Breaking Bad again. It is a very good show but is all about producing and distributing meth and has so much violence and drug abuse and negativity within each and every episode. That is mainly where I saw the ethical issues. I very rarely post on social media. I do not pretend to be someone else via social media. I think that is wrong and outright weird. I am always honest online. I do like to troll every now and then and comment funny things on friends profiles but it does not go any further than that. I would definitely hire someone like me. I do not have anything public that I would not want anyone to see. As stated before, I do not use social media often so it does not get in the way of my life. I do see others being controlled by it though. They use their social media apps like Facebook and Instagram while with other people and are often disconnected from the physical world.
Looks like you do use technology a lot but not too badly. It is great that you have kept a good online profile that will not hurt your career.
