Negotiating Learner Differences MOOC’s Updates
Analyzing "Constructing difference and sameness: the politics of assimilation in London's Arab communities by Caroline Nagel"
I chose to use the above as my focus of explanation because the article simbolizes the ability to show difference and at the same time sameness hence spiting coexistance. The approche being taken to bridge this gap is a bold step in trying to encompass the polictical and cultural devide between groups of people that believe they belong in the same place (geographically) but must stay seperate because of political, religion and cultural beliefs.
The intergration process of such diverse communities like the Arab community in London is usually a hassle and bassle but the idea of involving immigration may seem to work because the core values of the negotiation is purely coexistance rather than rigidity on beliefs.
In my submission i believe that they need to focus more on social inclusion as immigration tacles the settlement bit of the process, this is because bringing order in the community through clear bounderies and documention must come with sensitization. This means that people must learn to respect aswell as embrace each other's differences and the same time accepting the reality on ground. In my view this can be done by social inclussion throus school leaders, community leaders, religious leader, social workers and most of all head of families because charity begins at home.
