Abstract
Two projects; Nourish the New You and This Is Menopause were initiated with photography at their center, as a way to share lived experiences, to further understand and communicate the themes being explored as well as advocate for social change. This paper takes a close look at how photographic practice was implemented within the projects and incorporated into creative workshops using embroidery, textiles, printmaking and AI text to image generation; as well as discussing issues of ethics and consent whilst exploring sensitive topics.
