Abstract
Language shapes how communities engage with public institutions, access services, and participate in civic life. Yet, linguistic inequities, whether through underrepresentation of non-dominant languages, limited interpretation services, or cultural misunderstandings, can create barriers that prevent equitable participation. This session explores the role of visual communication and imagery in fostering linguistic equity, aiming to equip public workers, students, and community stakeholders with practical strategies for cultural understanding and inclusive engagement.
