Abstract
The research is based on quantitative and qualitative study of Instagram pages active in the field of waste collection in Iran. These pages, which have increased significantly in recent years, are trying to promote environmental culture and help reduce the waste crisis by encouraging citizens to participate in waste collection. In this regard, this research studies and analyzes the content of these pages and examines the virtual culture that governs them. Also, comments and feedback from users about the activities of these pages are analyzed in detail to better understand people’s attitudes and behaviors in this field. It is expected that the findings of this research show that waste collection Instagram pages in Iran have been able to help increase public awareness about the waste crisis and some of them are recognized as the main nuclei for public mobilization in the field of waste collection and environmental culture. On the other hand, the analysis of comments will probably show that people’s participation is mostly driven by a sense of social responsibility and a desire to protect the environment, but challenges such as the lack of local infrastructure for waste collection, lack of sufficient support from the government and related institutions, as well as the difficulties in waste separation, still pose serious obstacles. The results of this research can contribute to a deeper understanding of Iran’s virtual culture in the field of environment and waste collection and provide solutions for improving environmental campaigns.
