Meycauayan Common Transit Terminal

Abstract

The Meycauayan Common Transit Terminal (MCTT) is one of the primary transport hubs for public commuters traveling from the city of Meycauayan to various destinations in the province of Bulacan. It serves as the center of public transportation in the area. Despite its importance, the terminal faces issues with an unorganized queuing system, particularly in the priority lanes designated for persons with disabilities (PWDs), pregnant women, and senior citizens. To identify the factors affecting the terminal’s operations, the study was conducted using a quantitative approach, involving random interviews with passengers through questionnaires. The results revealed that many passengers experience difficulties due to poor management, the absence of staff to oversee operations, and ineffective implementation of policies. Queue cutting often occurs due to a lack of discipline and proper oversight. To address these issues, recommendations include the implementation of clearer guidelines, the addition of more staff to monitor operations, and the introduction of a ticketing system to streamline and improve the flow of transportation. These suggestions aim to provide a more organized and efficient system for commuters, ensuring safer and more comfortable travel for everyone.
