Abstract
The worsening traffic congestion in the city of Malolos is primarily attributed to the increasing number of slow-moving vehicles, resulting in delays and disruptions in the normal course of daily activities. The study looks into the role of the slow-moving vehicles in traffic congestion and investigates possible means to lessen their effects. A mixed-method design was used where data was gathered using a Google Forms questionnaire addressed to residents of Malolos that included both quantitative traffic pattern questions and open-ended questions on their experiences and recommendations for improvements. Such research is vital given that it conveys the effects of traffic-related delays on the residents’ productivity, health, and even transport expenses. It was shown that tricycles, electric vehicles, jeepneys and other vehicles are viewed as the main cause of congestion in city of Malolos. The result suggests some remedies such as providing special lanes, implementation of speed limit, and improving the traffic system in general, to reduce the traffic congestion.
