Street Lighting Along Bypass Road in the Town of Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines

Abstract

Street lighting along public roads and highways in the province of Bulacan is strictly necessary for safety of the motorists and precautionary measures for individual and group of individuals that use the side roads. The study aims is to prove that poor lighting impairs the visibility of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists that elevates accident risks, particularly during night time or bad weather conditions. The method used in this study was purposive sampling as qualitative research, the data were collected through interviews targeting selected drivers and pedestrians being the firsthand who experienced the problem. Based on the result, the study elucidates local government units to take pertinent and necessary actions to prevent loss of life.
