Hologram Technology: Gimmick or Innovative Pedagogical Device?

Abstract

This workshop explores four use cases for hologram technology in university settings. We will examine together whether it is just a gimmick or a device that makes possible legitimate innovative pedagogies. The real examples we investigate are from the implementation of hologram technology to support learning at Loughborough University. The data and insights provided have been collected as part of an ongoing research project that has already produced some highly successful outputs. This workshop is interactive with thought provoking questions that pull into sharp focus the not-too-distant future of education practice.
