The Relationship between Spiritual Beliefs and Mindfulness with Health Anxiety in Women with Breast Cancer

Abstract

The purpose of present study was investigation of the relationship between spiritual beliefs and mindfulness with health anxiety in women with breast cancer. The research method was correlational design. The statistical population included women with breast cancer that 120 women was selected, and answered to Taghizadeh’s Spiritual Beliefs Questionnaire (2015), Walach et al.’s Freiburg Mindfulness Inventory (2006), and Wells’s Health Anxiety Inventory (1994). Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation formula and regression. The findings show that there are negative and significant relationships between spiritual beliefs and mindfulness with health anxiety in women with breast cancer. Also, regression analysis showed that spiritual beliefs and mindfulness can predict health anxiety. Based on results it is recommended that set plans to empower spiritual beliefs and mindfulness in women with breast cancer in order to decrease health anxiety and increase mental health.
