Abstract
Bilingualism has spread in the Spanish education system in the last decades. The implementation has been many times controversial regarding the efficacy of bilingual programs. It has been argued that students in bilingual programs acquire less learning contents. In this study the performance of bilingual and non bilingual groups of students was measured at the end of Baccalaureate after being in these modalities along secondary education. The information was collected in a secondary and high school in the city of Albacete (Spain). The data correspond to 90 students who had studied previously Compulsory Secondary Education and were measured when finishing the Baccalaureate, in the test for applying to university. The results show some advantages favoring the students belonging to bilingual programs.
