Abstract
This paper describes the developing alcohol solution STEM Education through a professional learning community. This research used a qualitative approach to evaluate STEM education lesson plans for secondary school teachers. The lesson plans were developed through expert panels discussion in the KKU professional learning community (PLC). Participants included members of the KKU professional learning community (PLC) in the part of planning. The members included pre-service teachers (the author) and four expert panel committees. The KKU PLC was organized via the cycle of plan-do-see. This paper clarified only what we did in the planning of KKU PLC. The planning is about the expert panel discussion. In the planning, the researchers developed the first draft of the Solution of Substance STEM education lesson plan based on Sutaphan and Yuenyong (2019) STEM education teaching approach to present to the expert panel committee. The development of initiative for the lesson study learning activities on science was processed based on Lesson Study through STEM Education. Based on the lesson study, teachers discussed how to enhance students’ understanding of the application of Solutions of Substance through STEM Education. Teachers began to raise real-world problems that related to students’ context of medical alcohol solutions lacking in the market during the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand. Teachers selected some real-world problems which could align with Thailand’s science curriculum.
