Abstract

The research explores the influence of technology on the English language, specifically focusing on lexical innovations and language change. In today’s rapidly evolving digital age, technology plays a significant role in shaping the English lexicon through the introduction of new words and terms. This study investigates the impact of technological advancements, such as the internet, social media, and other digital platforms, on the English language. It examines how these technological developments have led to the creation of new vocabulary, changes in word meanings, and shifts in linguistic conventions. Through a comprehensive analysis of language corpora, linguistic studies, and examples from contemporary usage, this research provides insights into the extent and nature of technological influence on the English language’s lexicon and its implications for communication, language learning, and cultural evolution. By understanding the impact of technology on language, this study seeks to contribute to the broader understanding of language dynamics and the role of technology in linguistic innovation and change.
